The Triangle Food Commons is a local group investigating food security and sustainability in the greater Triangle region. The Triangle Food Commons is part of a statewide initiative coordinated by the Center for Environmental Farming Systems (CEFS) that's working to develop a Statewide Action Plan for building North Carolina's local food economy. CEFS is holding a series of regional meetings and discussions through out the state during the Fall and Winter and in March 2009 will host a summit to outline specific steps that policy makers, organizations, social activists and citizens can implement to strengthen and promote sustainable local food economies.
